Reviews - Round Three

I still have a few straggler back orders coming in, but here are reviews of most of my last bout of coding. Be warned - this is long. [img]redface.gif[/img]

Licorice Best Friend Outfit: This outfit is wonderful! It looked cute online, but it?s much better in person. The dress is made of soft mesh fabric and accented with little sequins. The jacket seems well-made and has real pockets. The purse is adorable. Grade: A+

Addy?s Cape Island Dress + Book: I love the concept of the short story sets in general, so I had to get them all. This dress is very pretty, but I was disappointed that the trim on the bottom doesn?t go all the way around. I?m saving the story for later, but it has some fun instructions for homemade ice cream using coffee cans in the back. This one came in a bag instead of a box (?). Grade: A-

Josefina?s Weaving Outfit + Book: This outfit is beautiful. I love the pattern and lace on the skirt. I was a little surprised by the rebozo ? I was expecting something made of yarn, not regular cotton. This is still a lovely set, though. The activity in the back involves tie-dying (?) with onions. Grade: A

Kit?s Tree House Outfit + Book: I loved the feel of the sweater. It?s a very nice, almost silky knit. The pom-pom on the hat is a little much for my taste, but maybe it would look better on a doll. I like that this set comes with a lot of pieces. Activity in the book is a jewelry tree. Grade: A

Samantha?s Talent Show Outfit + Book: This dress is great. I love that the fabric is so different from anything else I?ve seen AG offer. The details are very nice. The Activity in the book is juggling with scarves. Grade: A

Molly?s Victory Garden Outfit + Book: The dress is not exactly my favorite. Unlike some of the other sets, it doesn?t come with a whole lot ? just the dress and ribbon. Neither of these is particularly exciting. The book?s activity is homemade dog treats. Grade: A-

Kirsten?s Plaid Dress and Shawl Outfit + Book: I like this outfit a lot. The fabrics have a bit of weight to them, and the shawl is lined. The combination of purple and green doesn?t come across as well over the website, but it?s definitely purple and green. The activity in the book is a flower crown. Grade: A

Marisol?s Ballet Outfit: Not quite as impressive as the Tap Outfit, but still very cute. This set comes with a lot of pieces, which is nice. The skirt is very pretty, but really wrinkly. I love the little jewel accents. Grade: A

Addy?s Gardening Set: Overall, this set is very cute. The veggies are generally nice, and the watering can and hoe are made of metal. My only complaint is that the hoe comes ?assembly required.? Why? Is it that hard to attach a metal head to a wooden stick? Despite that, I recommend this set ? I think it has a lot of play value. Grade: A

Kit?s Waffle Iron Set: This is INCREDIBLE! I think this is one of the all-time best accessory sets AG has ever produced. The waffle iron itself is HEAVY and nicely detailed. It has the most adorable little cord and plug that connect to it. The waffles and whipped cream are cute. The plate is intricate and made of real glass. The recipe cards have real recipes on them (haven?t tried those yet, but I plan to!). I can?t recommend this set enough. Grade: A++

Coconut/Doll Hat and Jacket Set: What can I say, I?m a sucker for a good deal. I got this when it was on sale, and with the code it was a great deal. The jacket is nicely made, and it?s a cute concept. Not sure this is worth the full price though. Grade: A (as a sale item)

Samantha?s Spring Party dress: Not what I was expecting ? as others have said, it?s definitely green. I like that the style is unusual. I just wish the set came with more than it does ? perhaps dumping the valentines in favor of a necklace or shoes. Grade: A-

Glitter Jeans Outfit: I coded this somewhat reluctantly because I wanted to eventually collect all the talent show outfits. I?m glad I did, though ? it?s much cuter in person. The shirt is nicely detailed with bows and rhinestones. The hat has a very nice texture ? like suede but softer. The jeans are a bit stiff from the glitter. The shoes are sort of weird, but I think they were struggling to come up with something unique. There?s a lot to work with here if you like combining pieces from different outfits. Grade: A

Talent Show Accessories: Coded these, but they?re an even better deal now that they?re on sale. The glasses and necklace go well with the Licorice Best Friend outfit. The case is very nice, though I?m not sure what I?ll use it for. My only complaint is that the necklace has a spring ring clasp and took several tries to get on. I recommend this set, though, now that it?s on sale. Grade: A

Josefina?s Shoes and Socks: I wish I had coded these sets for all the girls. The shoes are very cute, a nice beige color with fringe. They go well with most outfits. The socks are nice and thick. Grade: A

Great reviews. I coded all the short stories too - except Molly got the aviator because we already had the Victory Garden. All are in hiding - probably 'til Christmas. I'm glad to hear your pleased. It will be fun to bring every thing out when the time comes.

It seems like everyone love's Kit's Waffle set. You have a really nice collection. Thanks for the detailed reviews. We haven't had as many reviews as when the movie code was going on, so it's nice to get a long review post.
